4 pointsTalking Pictures reporting on their FB page that Thea Gregory has died Our thoughts are with the Gregson family today as we have been informed that Thea Gregory, has gone to the cinema in the sky. Thea began her career in theatre under her real birth name of Ida Reddish, before (as Thea Gregory) appearing in nine British films between 1950 and 1956, including The Weak and the Wicked with her husband, John Gregson. Their marriage in 1947 was a happy union and blessed with six children. Several years ago Thea and some of their children gave an exclusive interview to #TalkingPicturesTV and became great friends with the channel. It was a real honour to have known you. Rest in Peace - reunited with John.

2 pointsThanks, completely missed that. You know, I'm actually an excellent deathpooler because my picks do end up dead. There's just this tiny little problem of them happening years and decades afterwards.

2 pointsThis man. he won 2 Cesars, one in 2004 for « A very long engagement » the other one in 2016 for « it’s only the end of the world ». He was one of the most talented french actor of his generation and people compared him a lot with Alain Delon before his death aged 37 in mid january in a ski incident during the Chamonix festival Which he was supposed to attend. He was Chanel egerie for more than 10 years and played in some of the most iconic french movie of the last 30 years : Yves Saint Laurent, Hannibal Lecter, The Sea Wall, Jacquou le Croquant… he was one of the most handsome and acclaimed contemporary actor in french. (There is a lot of full frontal nudes that you can find of him on internet from several movies he played in, you can thank me later)

2 pointsI'm always team Barry, but it's the first time I've heard of this claim, and it has no basis at all. The two songs* have the same chord progression but the melody is different. Sorry Barry you can't copyright a chord progression. Don't forget you nicked Could it be magic's chord progression from Chopin! *Can't smile without you Last Christmas

1 pointOn this day yesterday (12th December) in 2007, Ike Turner, american musician, songwriter, record producer, bandleader and scout for new talent, died from a drugs overdose aged 76. Regarded as a great innovator of rock and roll, he is best known for his work in the 1960s and 1970s with his then wife Tina Turner as the leader of Ike and Tina Turner revue. Blighted by years of cocaine addiction and consequent legal troubles combined with Tina Turner going public about the domestic violence she suffered at the hands of her ex- his career suffered badly in the 1980s and 1990s. Jailed for 18 months for drug offences, after his release in 1991 he remained drugs free until a relapse in 2004 and dying of a drugs overdose in 2007. During his final decade he did experience some career success by going back to his blues roots and winning awards for two of these albums..

1 pointOn this day in 2008, British journalist and News Presenter Bob Friend died aged 70. He was one of the original news anchors on Sky News when it launched in 1989 but he began his career at the BBC as the Northern Ireland correspondent on the Today programme on Radio 4 during a particularly brutal era of sectarian violence. He spent 20 years at the BBC. Apparently Tom Cruise during a brief trip to London watched Sky News, spotted Bob and as a result decided his face fitted so to speak and as a result secured him a number of cameo roles in movies including Mission Impossible and Independence Day. Bob died of a brain tumour.

1 pointBerlin and the region here was so enthusiastic when Tesla decided to open their giga factory in the neighbourhood. But lately, I just can't shake off the feeling that Musk is a fraud. Not a total fraud, but not the genius he pretends to be. He's no Bill Gates, maybe not even a Steve Jobs. He's created a personality cult and hopes that his businesses turn a profit, and continue to do so once the boom is over. It seems to work in places, but he, himself, got so rich because of stock pump-and-dump schemes, and selling overprices companies at the right time. Some recent news about Tesla here have not been good. I wonder if his vaguely defined empire is going to collapse eventually. He reminds me of the worse half of the 19th century robber barons, not a Rockefeller or Carnegie, more like a Jay Gould.
