2 pointsPat Carroll died on this day a year ago, aged 95. - Carroll's debut on Broadway in 1955 for the play Catch A Star! earned her a Tony nomination, and in 1956, she won an Emmy for her role on Caesar's Hour. - For live-action roles, Carroll was often typecast as the mothers of major characters, such as Shirley's mother Lily on Laverne and Shirley. - Carroll got into voice acting in the 1960s, and was the voice of Jane Jetson for the pilot episode of The Jetsons. She sued Hanna-Barbera in 1963 claiming that she was guaranteed the role for 24 episodes, but was replaced by Penny Singleton after the first episode. The court ruled in favor of Hanna-Barbera, likely due to scheduling conflicts with her role in The Danny Thomas Show. - On '80s TV, Carroll was known for voicing the main antagonist Katrina Stoneheart on Pound Puppies, and the voice of Jon's grandmother in the Garfield TV specials: - Carroll received her most famous role in 1989, when she was cast as the voice of the villain Ursula in Disney's The Little Mermaid: She would continue to voice the character up until her death, and also voiced Ursula's sister Morgana in the film's direct-to-video sequel. - Outside of Ursula, other film roles Carroll was known for included portraying Miep Gies in Freedom Writers and voicing Granny in a 2005 dub of My Neighbor Totoro.

1 pointA few regulars have oft noted the Curse of the Pointless Celebrities Chair which I'd reference if the forum Search engine wasn't being a shithead. Namely the propensity for celebs on Pointless who need the chair to sit in (as opposed to the usual standing contestants) often snuffing it soon after. I suspect she'll break this trend as she's as LOUD and bubbly as she ever was, but Rustie Lee had the chair tonight and a croaky voice.

1 pointDutch Post-Impressionist painter who is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art Vincent van Gogh died on this day 133 years ago, aged 37. In just over a decade he created approximately 2100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of them in the last two years of his life. They include landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits, and are characterised by bold, symbolic colours, and dramatic, impulsive and highly expressive brushwork that contributed to the foundations of modern art. He sold only one painting during his lifetime and became famous after his suicide which followed years of poverty and mental illness.

1 pointThis time last year for DL 2022 there were only 4 hits so DL 2023 is advanced by 5 with still so much more potential to come for the remaining part of the year I genuinely feel.

1 pointThe worst thing about the IRA Brighton bombing (apart from Thatcher surviving it) was Tebbit's meat and two veg on show when he was rescued from the rubble.

1 pointI mean, like any teenager at the turn of this century I have nostalgia for Linkin Park but the Soundgarden dude (who I also like) did the Bond intro theme to the biggest Bond film of the past twenty years. I think he's probably way more famous. Incidentally Lafucheuse missed Nipsy Hussle for 2019. No, despite @RadGuybest efforts I am not down with the kids but that guy got a full Panorama special about his murder which I did see, so I have to assume he was a bit famous.

1 pointThis bollocks really does do my head in. She made something like 10 million quid from singing Princes song. And we are supposed to feel exactly what because she can't cope with life? The bloke who does my gardening for 15 quid a fucking hour has had a worse life than this by more than a small margin. Give me a fuckin' break.

1 pointI hope so because I didn't compete this year as was just getting into deadpooling and didn't want to overwhelm myself. Now i'm ready to do more.

1 pointNot the fact she probably has a fear of being alone and every man she's been with she married, got engaged or had a child (or two) with - or all of the above. I've met Alex Reid and my cousin met Peter Andre as they shared same GP surgery. They are both half decent guys. We know she has body dysmophia as well because since the age of 18 she's had like 10 surgeries to do with her breasts. Goodness knows what other chemicals are in her blood stream.
