Pam Henry, who was stricken with polio at the age of 14 months and went on to become the March of Dimes’ last national poster child and an Oklahoma City broadcaster, has died. Just a quick update, she’s off the ventilator but still on oxygen and on the lung ward for now but I know there’s going to be a lot of tests done on her heart this week. However she’s awake, alert and talking away yesterday and again today. Ive barely slept since Thursday so it’s all a bit hazy now, so very large Baileys and an early night will help. Also the support of friends and family and colleagues have been amazing, so now we appear over the worst and critical stage I can hopefully chill and relax tonight.

The issue ultimately was the producers Kim came on for the money and Coleen had no intention of reconciling and neither did Kim.Kim pointed out the hypocrisy of the whole set up.The Nolan have always been in the business they grew up in it.Kim is not a showbiz person by choice.She was unknown until middle age and has lived out of that bubble a lot of her life so.cant stand the facade of the whole showbiz culture.

It’s the lack of footfall in high streets which is real killer. Let’s face it, most people have had a pay squeeze here for nearly 9 years. I finally got a 4% payrise this year after 1% in each of the last 8. Plus us as an example- Howick shirt in House of Fraser £40. Exact same shirt on Amazon £5. Polo shirt for holiday from Burtons £12. Exactly the same from a warehouse on eBay £1.99. All that’s missing is the Burtons label.

One point I think everyone has missed in her legacy is that the Olympics might have been a success but the Paralympics in London set new standards which have - near enough - obliged the rest of the world to get serious about them. They'd been a damp and largely under-attended postscript to previous games but the crowds in London - especially when Johnny Peacock and Oscar Pistorius were running - were exceptional and very loud. Clearly not all down to Dame Tessa but placing those games on a similar footing and getting behind them re publicity etc. made a difference.

A friend from the school today sadly died in a scooter mopedaccident, just 17 years old.
