When I started this thread, I would never have thought I'd be mentioning Adam Schlesinger, whose death is reported elsewhere, but who I hope you don't me adding here, as songwriting was his true talent. I'd call him more an acquaintance than a friend, but two memories stand out. The first was when he and Chris stayed at my flat as members of The Wallflowers, a name they gave up to Jacob Dylan soon after, before forming FoW. They had the misfortune to be there while a 'party' was going on, and spent half the night sequestered in a bedroom playing Scrabble with my flatmate Nic. The other was getting me a pass to see them play Stacy's Mom on Top of the Pops, as a besotted teenager of... 36! I stayed well out of camera shot and made my way to the legendary TVC bar after their slot. Thanks for reading, and look after yourselves and your loved ones in these strange days. Should I link a YouTube, if i can remember how?

Looks like he’s tested positive for cake also.

The Hollywood Reporter has checked up on him and he's doing fine during this coronavirus situation. It's also interesting to note that Norman Lloyd lived through the 1918 flu epidemic. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/rambling-reporter/norman-lloyd-is-surviving-his-second-global-epidemic-1286735

Notable Slovene writer Boris Pahor, 106 year old and best known for his autobiographical novel, Necropolis, which is narrated by a survivor of the Nazi concentration camps, would surely get an Obit. He received the prestigious Preseren Award in 1992 and the BBC has made a documentary about his life through Nazi Germany: "The Man who Saw too much", definetely worth seeing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000bqt9

Ok, maybe I’m missing something on this Deane Sutherland debate. Surely the obituary posted above is the typical paid for obit that families and funeral directors pay to put into local papers every day of the week. I am very new to this whole deadpooling thing, but my understanding was that these type of obits are not accepted in any pool, regardless of how august the publication is. Otherwise any of us could pay to put a death notice in a local rag and claim it as a legitimate obit. Or am I missing some obvious (or indeed subtle) aspect of deadpooling?

Eileen Ash and Fauja Singh (both born 1911, but Singh's birth is dubious) will definitely both obit.

Dan Snow has reported his death, aged 108, on Twitter.

If anyone deserves to die its that damn W**ker that QE2 is married to. Yep, you got it in one, Prince Philip ( Mountbatten) of "foot in mouth" fame. Apart from that, what else is he famous for? Marrying the Queen, big deal! The sooner that bugger is relegated to the earth, the happier I'll be. At his age, hopefully I shouldn't have too long to wait! *fingers crossed*

I just so happened to message Joey about this. I do believe since that was posted 3 days ago (even before the article came out) that my first sub should come into play as they should never have been accepted in the first place. Every day I wonder “is today the day Sir Creep takes his head out of his ass” and every day I’m proven wrong. He’s a HALL OF FAME high school football coach and to basically every one else’s recollection, WT Johnson was a fairly popular pick here last year. Stop complaining about Joey especially when you can barely even manage your own Deadpool.

He is the person on DL most likely to make it to 105. Committee could have held off on him imo until he was closer to Centenarian status

I have heard that this virus is causing people to mysteriously transform into other creatures..... ....or I am getting confused with OVID 19?

Conversely, that biatch of a barmaid who looked at me for a solid ten minutes, intermittently playing with her phone while I had an empty glass in front of me at the bar I was at a few weeks ago is out of a job! Sometimes, the arrogance of the employee needs to be mentioned also!

I must say, I rather enjoyed the title of that article: "Philip: A Pain in the Neck" Praytell, for us non-Britons, what was the "bath incident?"

Prince Philip cancels engagement due to trapped nerve in his neck. He also cancelled engagements eight weeks ago when he had the flu. I think he has a good couple years in him yet, but he is certainly beginning to show his age. Not forgetting the bath incident.

He certainly is one of the most annoying buggers in the world, thanx for that link. I'll be keeping a close eye on this bloke & will be the first to host the biggest party on the block when he bites it. Back to the drawing board. Great site by the way, I luv it!

Well you don't have to wait for old age to die now, do you? I'm hoping for a speedy end to this "man's" pathetic life & any way is fine by me. You know who'll be the first one to jump off their chair in delight when he bites it, don't you?! The very fact that this "royal concubine" is a prominent member of WWF yet still manages to wipe out rare rhinos with little regard ( well, one anyway ...of only 250, mind you) is typical of his pathetic life, & just one of many extremely good reasons why this "man" should meet his maker sooner not later. I'm still voting for him for 2004!
