Oh do fuck off, why do we have to go through this pointless fucking exercise EVERY SINGLE TIME someone dies that wasn’t ON THE LIST! The reason he wasn’t in the list is because they didn’t fucking pick him.

Yes, I'm thinking the game could start a bit sooner. Wasn't there only a week lead-in to the start date for Round 1? Late entries were allowed, but with an embargo on actors already picked. We've all had plenty of time to come up with ideas - it's not like Scavenger Hunt where we have to wait for categories.

Every single time we get this avalanche of protests about a 'big miss' by the committee . To the best of my knowledge nobody has done consistently better with their shadow lists if that's the right nomenclature for where you do your own 50. And even if they had, it's one persons guesses v another (possibly set of) persons. It's a guessing game, you are comparing a bunch of guesses made by some folks with an eye to being interesting against the reality 'after the event'.

I think LGBT+ people and Scots both have a uniquely dreich outlook on life. Everyone on this forum does, but we're exposed to the world being a spinning ball of doom before some others. In turn we attempt to make light of it. This isn't a projection of course. Not like it's coming from a bisexual Glaswegian downer's perspective or summat...

US blogger on aging, Ronni Bennett, died last night at 79: https://www.timegoesby.net/ She got some Washington Post coverage, and her pancreatic cancer diagnosis got her into my Hare's team last year. She seemed to be doing okay with it though, for quite some time.

Today's score is 326. One scorer, Buffalo Phil. Old Crem 65 Paul Bearer 50 Quim Reaper 45 Kenny 45 Redrumours 40 The Unknown Man 40 Paddyfool 40 MPFC 35 Buffal Phil 30 Steve the troll 15 Exu 10 Marenghi 5 Coffin Lodger 5. Well done to Old Crem who is Octobers winner. The deaths are mounting up again, so for November the scoring system will be +/- 25 for 5 points. Within 5 deaths will get you 10 points and spot on will get you 25 points. I only hope I remember all that when the figures are announced.

Also their polls doesn't weigh by education, and given the fact that people's education levels is a big indicator of how they might vote it would be like not weighing a poll by age, race or gender.

stared in more of my favorite films than any other actor and was the best bond I thought he had another ten years in him

Of note that both Roger Moore and (presumably) Sean Connery's deaths were kept off the front pages/top of the news broadcasts, Moore by the Manchester Arena bombing and Connery by the new lockdown.

Gone, James Gone. You only live twice, Mr. Bond, so never say never again. Rest in peace, Sean Connery. I thought he was a brilliant Bond and a brilliant actor. He will be truly missed but his marvellous work will live on for generations to come. Here endeth the lesson.

Cause of death was "complications from consciousness of having been in Highlander 2" according to the BBC.

I was going to suggest (or may have already been suggested), to put him on list next year. RIP an icon.
