Why is everyone suddenly obsessed with this Rosemary Harris? Genuinely had never heard of her before about a week ago (although it turns out I do know her work in the Spiderman films) but now she's been mentioned three times in this thread and has her own thread started a few days ago...despite there being absolutely nothing wrong with her as far as we know (I get it, she's 93). Am I missing something? I'd be tempted to suggest many of the mentions come from recent forum joiners, but I choose not to become part of the tinfoil hat brigade and take people on face value.

Ok, let's see if I can help with the first year just now. 1917: Marsha Hunt (IMDb) actress - still alive as of March as per this BBC article about her, definitely won't die off grid. Don Marion (IMDb) silent film actor - interesting case. Reported dead in a 2012 book (and several places give this as a death date) but Wikipedia says this is not correct and this article from Arizona (where he is now living) recognises him in their 32nd annual 'Salute to Centenarians' event. Nothing since that I can find so assume he's still alive. Can't find anything for the 33rd annual 'Salute to Centenarians' - probably cancelled because of the 'rona. Daphne Courtney (IMDb) actress - South African-born actress in B-movies in the 30s and 40s. Married Scottish actor Hugh McDermott in 1936 in London (date found online and confirmed by Ancestry). Full name Daphne Ralda Courtenay-Hicks. Have found this record that would match for her husband's death in 1999 (also born 1917) in Droitwich, Worcestershire - no matching death for Daphne though. Still, it's a start? Eleanor Hansen (IMDb) actress - American actress from Indiana, USA, roles in the 30s and early 40s only, mostly uncredited. Not turned much up on her, she disappears after the 40s and I don't have access to US records to trace marriage, etc. Eddie Infante (IMDb) actor and director - Filipino actor with long list of credits from the 1930s up to 1995 (when he'd have been nearly 80). Nothing since and I can't find any mention of him anywhere on Google in either English or Spanish. Full name Jesus Eduardo Ferriol Infante. Antonio Gradoli (IMDb) actor - Italian actor with credits from the 30s to the late 60s. Italian Wiki also lists him as alive. Also known as Anthony Gradwell - I think only in English dubs of European films? Another one who disappears without trace as far as I can see. That wasn't much use really was it? It started so well, but I've not found anything definitively killing any of them but neither can I prove for sure that most of them are alive.

When I was 4 or 5 someone had the smart idea of having me in the room when this scene from Doctor Who played and I was legit scared of shop window dummies for years.

James Watson is not a racist. That whole thing got blown way out of proportion and it shows how oversensitive people have become on anything concerning race and how we can’t have a mature conversation about it without resorting to finger pointing and name calling. One of his studies looked at genetic differences between different races, and one factor he looked at was measures of intelligence. Now, I’m all for calling out racists when pseudo science is concerned e.g. social Darwinism employed by the Nazis, but when a study uses true scientific method, we can’t simply refuse to acknowledge its findings because we don’t like the results and then the general conclusions arrived from it. Ofc it was ONE study, and there have been many, and MOST of them say that there are no significant differences in intellect between races. However, is it really hard to believe that there COULD be? For millennia many groups of humans were completely isolated from one another on this planet. It follows that they would have evolved separately and differently according to thousands of situational factors. Anyway, I don’t believe in shooting the messenger. It is the job of scientists to uncover the truth. Facts don’t care about feelings at the end of the day.
