Bugger. She was THE speaker. Nobody else has been. Only her.

God what I'd have given to seen her as a Speaker taking on Johnson, Ress Mogg and Rabb

Genuine parliamentary heavyweight - none of her successors as Speaker are even close imo. You need to start jinxing the right people like Rolf, Cheney, Sidney Cooke, etc instead!

Barbara Babcock, the accomplished American actress, one of the best character actresses of her generation, probably remembered for playing Liz Craig on "Dallas", the sensuous Grace Gardner on "Hill Street Blues", and Dorothy Jennings on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman", is 86 today. In 2004, Barbara Babcock retired from acting after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Grant Show, the attractive American actor, whose first major work was on the daytime soap opera "Ryan's Hope", who's well known for his portrayal of motorcycle-loving Jake Hanson on the 1990s primetime soap opera "Melrose Place", is 61 today.

Katie Price "sparks concern" after her 16th boob job. https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/katie-price-sparks-concern-painful-29053761 On the other hand, she's now "ready for spring". I particularly liked this part: "The former glamour model's bra size has changed multiple times over the years – with the star also having breast reductions in addition to enlargements" She only does it for the press, does she..

Just found out Kundera was six-foot-two inches tall (1.88m) in his prime! https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/7703777-i-am-obedient-i-can-never-say-no-to-those This means Kundera was at one time the tallest candidate from the 2023 DL along with Alan Alda, making Kundera’s continuous survival, plagued by his grave health issues, even harder to explain with this great height. The next tallest on this year’s list, from listings I have found, are: Sandy Gall: 6 ft 1.5 (1.87m) Sonny Rollins: 6 ft 1.5 (1.87m)

Strong disagree with the "replace" part* - Kundera is very ill judging on V. Klaus' comments from April, was allegedly already terminally ill a few years ago and should not be dropped. *Unless he dies before 2023, in which case I agree. Lynne Reid Banks doesn't look like the picture of health (below a picture from a couple of months ago), but as far as I know isn't ill.

I can't quite believe this thread will eventually have to be renamed to "King Charles". He'll always be a prince to me.

He was a Lord already. He has been awarded the Companion of Honour which used to be a top award until David Cameron gave it to his bum chum George Osbourne.
