I don't remember André Maranne in anything. I looked at the Fawlty Towers episode that kept being mentioned and he was in it for about two seconds.

One name that stuck out to me during Scavenger research was James Watson. Probably the most famous scientific Nobel Laureate for co-discovering DNA. Looks like utter shit. Tommy Lasorda should also make an appearance due to his recent health. And not only should Pope Benedict XVI return, but he should be a top 10 pick.

I was already wondering about that but that propose is too specific, why not include Tom Parker? Ok medium survival rate for glioblastoma is 15 months after diagnosis and he announced it in october but seems a solid name, same for Paul Westphal I don't know if they are DL worthy but according to what I read on this forum, I think Dai Davies, Floyd Little and probably Mary Fairhurst are quite certain they won't see 2022 I would consider at least the following: Dai Davies Tom Parker, Paul Westphal Jiang Zemin (if drol advocates him so much i won't ignore its suggestion) Raul Castro (increasing rumours of a terminal illness ?) James Whale, George Alagiah, Bill Turnbull (this trio should be included as a block) Jerry Lee Lewis Rush Limbaugh Shannen Doherty Larry King Mikhail Gorbachov

Yes, Felton would have counted in 2019. He almost certainly wouldn't in 2021 unless I've missed some actual albums or chart success or what not. The DDP rules since time foretold have stated it needs "the mention of death", not a full obit. Kindly fuck off with these incessant complaints that always arise from not reading the fucking rules, old chap.

Playing the YouTube ‘choose random suggested song game’ a few times landed me on this. Listened to it four times in a row. A song about addiction (I think).... is.... addicting.

I think the Committee can dismiss some younger picks for 2021, namely, Shane MacGowan, Paul Gascoigne, Michael J. Fox and Michael Schumacher. Granted they might go in 2021, but they could instead die in another five or ten years. I feel Bill Turnbull, James Whale, Shannen Doherty, Tom Parker and Rush Limbaugh are great 2021 shouts though. Concerning Mikhail Gorbachev, I think the DL Committee can risk leaving him out again next year. Yes, he’s a reasonably solid candidate but I have no reason to believe he’s in terrible health and it will already be so hard limiting this list down to just 50.

Of the cancered names, James Whale and Rush Limbaugh surely ought to debut on the list. Most people won't be mourning those two when they die, which is a bonus from your usual cancered names... Alan Dean Foster (Star Wars author) also would be a good pick

Daily Mail reporting that my DDP theme team pick Fay Weldon is divorcing her third husband at the age of 89. The article references not being able to speak well and a prolonged spell in hospital. I suspect the divorce might be to avoid him getting his hands on her dosh when the fateful day comes. Though he might be a better pick as her second husband died of a heart attack one month after their divorce
