Does nothing but prove my point that the only reason he's on the list is because he's 98. He seems in excellent physical and mental condition for someone who is literally 98 years old. I'm not going to make any declarative statements because the last time I did it backfired horribly on me... But I feel pretty safe about Dick probably even vacating top 10 in 2024.

Either he is the only person affected by Covid like this, or he has other health conditions unrelated to covid. Either way I don't see why his wife seems to feel obliged to update the tabloids on every twist and turn.

Ronnie Biggs died on this day 10 years ago, aged 84. - Biggs was an RAF officer who was dishonorably discharged in 1949 for breaking into a chemist's shop. He would begin a life of crime from there, stealing a car and robbing a book depository. - Working as a carpenter, Biggs was short on money in 1963, Biggs was among the masterminds of the Great Train Robbery (alongside Bruce Reynolds, whom he befriended in prison). Out of the £2.6M looted, Biggs received £147,000 (5.6% of the share). - Biggs would be sentenced to 30 years imprisonment- he only served 15 months before managing to escape, fleeing to Belgium. He met up with his family in Paris, and they would go to Australia from there. Biggs then fled to Brazil in 1969 as Interpol was closing in on him. - Biggs would make money by hosting barbecues. He was not arrested due to Brazil not having an extradition treaty to the UK, and would even manage to collaborate with the Sex Pistols: Due to his long stay in Brazil, he was often jokingly called a British ambassador. - Biggs would be kidnapped by British mercenaries in 1981 who were seeking his cash bounty, and taken to Barbados. The kidnappers' boat broke down offshore, and the Barbadian Coast Guard would send Biggs back to Brazil- the country also did not have an extradition treaty with the UK. - Biggs decided to return to the UK in 2001, and was arrested and re-imprisoned upon arrival. His health would decline, and he would be released on compassionate grounds after several strokes in 2009. - After release, Biggs became known for wearing a signature skull-and-crossbones scarf- which he started wearing after finding out about his presence on the list: Biggs had debuted on the DeathList in 2000, and made a total of 13 appearances (2001 being the only absence between debut and death), 10 of which within the top 5 (4 at no.1). As seen in the picture above, he bought several pieces of DL merch. He is the only person to have been on the DeathList to publicly acknowledge that fact... so far.

Death notice for the Hon. Harry St Clair Fane aged 70: https://announcements.telegraph.co.uk/marketplace/advert/fane-notices_54894 Interesting one this. He was the Second Page of Honour to HM Queen Elizabeth II between 1966 and 1968. His older brother is the current 16th Earl of Westmoreland, and, as the current Earl only has a daughter, Harry was the heir apparent. Therefore the heir apparent to the Earldom now moves to Harry's son Sam (b. 1989).

The Swiss television journalist, director and author Corinne Pulver died on October 10, 2023 at the age of 96 - one day before the 94th birthday of her sister Lilo Pulver, our No. 3 on this year's D-A-CH list. Once again we chose the wrong sibling, see the Wepper brothers https://www.sueddeutsche.de/medien/corinne-pulver-tot-nachruf-pionierin-gestorben-fernsehen-1.6312438?reduced=true Fun fact: Corinne Pulver probably had an affair with Martin Walser, who was a hit for us in July, at the end of the 1950s.

Its 75 years since Josef Mayr-Nusser died of dysentery on his way to Dachau. He was an Italian Roman Catholic who had been drafted into the Nazi army but refused to recite the Hitler oath, for which he was sentenced to death. He was on his way to face a firing squad when he fell and died.

If he's aware of death pooling he's almost certainly aware of this site... wonder if he's reading this? If you are Sam we're not picking you because we want you to die, (in fact as a simpsons fan, I'd prefer it if you were immortal) the fact is your young, have admitted you have cancer and are probably going to die and DDP rewards that kind of choice in teams. P.S of the thousands of mildly famous people who are potentially going to die next your, you're so well respected by a DDP team to be chosen as one of just 20 names they can through in a hat, that should be an accolade on your end. We love you Sam, may you do a Wilko on us please.
