To mark the Queens 65th anniversary on the throne I am proposing a new dead pool idea.Very simple pick a name of someone born on or after 6th February 1952.If the name you pick dies first you get a point. When one candidate dies we go onto round two then round 3 etc until the Queens reign ends. The player with the most hits before that time wins. You cannot have the same candidate as another player but when a pool is reset you will have to resubmit your candidate and if you beat someone to it you can steal the candidate they had in the last pool. The game is live from now.DDP obit rules apply. I`m nominating Errol Christie #Rule changes. _Each player can pick up to 5 celebrities or vaguely notable people. _Picks must be 18 at the time of selection. _Picks cant be confirmed missing for more than 7 days when selected.Once they have been missing over 7 days they cant be reselected. _You can't pick someone elses picks in the previous round unless they are dropped by who picked them in the last round. _Death row inmates are allowed. Hits and winners. 1)Steve Sumner 2nd April 1955_8th February 2017 :Chopped Liver 2)Steve Hewlett 8th August 1958_20th February 2017:Chopped Liver 3)Lisa Magill 22nd January 1982_11th March 2017 :Joeyruss 4)Amy Krouse Rosenthal 29th April 1965_13th March 2017 :The Dead Cow 5)Sonja Durham c 1975- 19th May 2017 Joeyruss 6)Ray Kershaw c1954-22nd May 2017 The Dead Cow 7)Irfon Williams c1970-30th May 2017 gcreptile The Quim Reaper Sinead O'Connor Paris Jackson Kim Jong-un Courtney Love Mr T Updated masterlist for round 6 as of 22/5/17

As for trance/synthpop music, I believe it was George Santayana who said, "Those who ignore the first 32 bars are doomed to repeat it." SC

I wish the media would stop covering his life. Let the man ruin it in peace.

Joan Crawford stopped acting on this day 40 years ago, aged 73.

Was that his incompetence though? Or that for a bank setting up an account in his dogs name?

Incompetence has always been a defence for fraud, for the right people. Just look at Harry Redknapp.

    Daily Mail has it: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4491042/DJ-Robert-Miles-dies-undisclosed-illness-aged-47.html

Heard that Robert Miles House/Electronica DJ has died in Ibiza. Can't find it on any English language news websites yet though so perhaps rumour.

I would take this with a grain of salt, only sources reporting on this are New Zealand Herald (which takes national enquirer as a source) and some Romanian website that is only pasting what "some american tabloids" are reporting.

Ok, I've calmed down enough. Portugal through. Still predicting a top ten finish for them - might even be a contender on the night. Still my personal fave. Poland, Armenia and Azerbaijan? Seriously, with apologies to anyone supporting those countries, they should not have got through imo, but it was always the weaker of the two semis, so anything was up for grabs. Roll on Thursday, we in the UK don't have votes, that is the tough semi. I'm still strangely addicted to Romania's entry. If anyone here has their country performing, good luck! It literally could be anyone....

I can't really compare him to anybody in the U.K. but from what I know he seems more like David Cameron to me. I agree that he likely won't succeed because neither the left or right is on his side and he has little chance of a majority government. However, I don't think Marine will win in 2022. Jean-Marie's wing of the party will plague National Front and the alt-right movement in the world will die down after Trump collapses.

My Grandparents lived in the same nursing home as Pressburger although not at the same time.Apparently he used to have his Oscar on the mantlepiece in the room.

Did quick snooping on the ones you assumed dead, and Blackhurst died 2 March per her Facebook page. Still nothing definitive on Lowbridge though (there probably never will be).

Economist and Federal Reserve Historian Allan Meltzer dead at 89: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-05-09/allan-meltzer-who-wrote-history-of-federal-reserve-dies-at-89 Second pick of my 2015 economics theme team to die this week (after Baumol, who didn't obit). So a list of the missed entry.

Grim, iirc, says it got lost somewhere between moves. He is, literally, the only person who posts here now you could ask? Harry Mac suggested once they never actually got round to doing a Deathlist that year. Might have been joking. Dunno. In short - not a single scooby snack.

When the Queen does eventually die, hopefully whoever posts here first that fateful day will use the "London Bridge is Down" code phrase.
