3 pointsANNIE SELLS THE FARM 16/50 13th December 2019 UK soap actress Sheila Mercier has died to bring the crowdsource list up to a very respectable score. She began her career as a stage actress, working on Donald Wolfit's Shakespeare company till 1951. She then worked with her brother Brian Rix in the Whitehall farces, a series of five plays that ran throughout the 1950s and 1960s. These performances were televised on the BBC, with critics noting that Mercier "was up to the second in tempo sense of fun." It was in 1972, however, where she performed in her biggest role in her career. Mercier was among the original cast of Emmerdale, and in it she played Annie Sugden, the head of the Sugden family. Sheila was among the main cast members of the show, staying on the show for another 22 years (being one of two original cast members still around for the 20th anniversary) before retiring in 1994. She has made occasional appearances since then for the funeral of her sons Joe in 1995 and Jack in 2009. She also made an appearance in a special programme in honor of the 5000th episode of Emmerdale. Given her old age and her impact on Emmerdale, she was a bit of a popular pick for some, as she was making her way to a second appearance on the crowdsource list. However, instead she died at the ripe old age of 100, only sneaking on at the 49th spot on this year's list. It should be noted though that like any dead pool barring the likes of Deathrace and co, it is a marathon rather than a sprint. We went nearly four months without any hits (and it looked like it might've been a dismal year), and look at the list now. It's at its second best performance to date...

3 points@MikeM, I think I speak for all of us when I say we are saddened by your loss. I've been searching on a regular basis for her TIYL episode for you but to no avail. I'll keep looking. R.I.P. Sheila.

2 pointsLib Dem because the other two didn't deserve it (neither did Lib Dems but the only other option was UKIP). If we were reading this thread in an African country we would presume there must have been vote rigging going on. Current thread result. 5 Lib Dems 8 Labour 2 Conservative 1 SNP 2 No Votes 1 Too young to vote SNP supporter. It's a Labour landslide in the Death List constituency.

1 pointJust a quick thread. Might delete it in a couple of days. If you're brave enough to tell the world, which party did you vote for? I'll start. (Don't hate me) S.N.P.

1 pointThe next leader needs to be someone better known, who's not so much a Corbynite, who will hold Johnson to account at every turn without fail. Sir Keir Starmer makes sense, as does Jess Phillips, and I reckon these are probably just about the best choices they've got; they're the sort of no-nonsense candidates the Tories are fearing. Emily Thornberry wouldn't be a terrible choice either, or David Lammy, though it's unlikely he'll stand for leadership. Richard Burgon is an absolute no-no. The other one I've been fearing will pipe up is Rebecca Wrong-Daily, who'd also be fucking terrible.

1 pointI think Sheila Mercier was a silly miss by the committee. So I hope they dont make the same mistake next year and leave soap Queens Barbara Windsor and Julie Goodyear off the list.

1 pointJust sent my list. I'm virtually certain several of my picks will be rejected and replaced so I don't really mind sending early. Good luck!

1 pointDennis Skinner. Raison d'etre is in the toilet. Various health problems in the past and present. Will pine for the House of C bar and the banter. Become Billy no mates. A divorce he really did not want. Dead within the year.

1 pointI should probably link the rule page, so here it is: http://www.aodeadpool.org/rules.html Also, make sure you alphabetize your list to something like this (although with whatever names you decide to play) 1. Carter, Jimmy - US president 2. Douglas, Kirk - Hollywood actor 3. Lynn, Vera - Wartime singer 4. Philip, Prince - Duke of Edinburgh 5. Trebek, Alex - Jeopardy Host Should be something like that Oh, and don’t be surprised if some of your picks are rejected. This happens to a lot of us, especially if you are the more competitive player.

1 pointIt was started by Brits, so having British-known people on the official DL is a side effect of that. But hey, look at the picks on forum pools; very international indeed! I’ve never heard of Soulages, but there’s every likelihood I’m just ignorant This is the thing, fame is subjective.
