3 pointsOn the Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, "Eric lived in the studio rafters and used to winch down a plastic ball containing postcards for the prize pick. Such was his popularity that when the team were looking for a name for the statue given to the winners of the Swap Shop star awards, Eric was the natural choice" You won't get that kind of detailed information on your average forum boards, you know. Cheggers was a real poet - not just anyone could rhyme Reagan with Keegan. Edit: oh balls, that cunt BA Robertson wrote it.

2 pointsI'm a trans woman myself. Knew it for years, and some on here have known in private for a while - no reason to keep hiding. Life's too short. Don't want any fuss - just here to deadpool and perpetually increase my knowhow of yesteryear celebs. And agreed wrt the above, having that deadpooler's sense of black humor definitely helps keep me sane.

1 pointDefinitely will have him in my Top 50 next year, if he makes it. His face is noticeably gaunt, and although he's still mentally very sharp, his voice is more hoarse-sounding as well. At least he showed he could stand up during the interview, but he unfortunately doesn't look good.

1 pointGay guy here also. As the clock strikes midnight on Election Day here in California where I live, here are some late thoughts by me as it relates to the election: --Florida does a good job counting the votes quickly, including the early/mail-in vote. We might have a sense of where the race is by 10PM EST, 2 hours after the Florida polls close. If Florida goes blue, it's over. It's a total must-win for Trump. --At the same time as the Florida results come in, I'll be looking closely at North Carolina, where polls actually close 30 minutes earlier than in Florida. This is another one that Trump pretty much has to win, and Biden has held an extremely narrow polling lead for the better part of two months there. Note that there's a Democratic Governor there, and that there's a Senate race also going on where the Republican incumbent appears to be in trouble. --If it's looking good for Trump in Florida and North Carolina around 10PM EST, then it's going to be nervous time for the Biden camp, because then a Pennsylvania loss could really mean Trump has substantial odds to win the election. Most reliable election models have Biden's PA lead between 4-5 points, but if there's a 3-point polling error (like what happened in 2016), the vote count might be close enough to where there are enough early/mail-in ballots to throw the numbers in doubt, which is where SCOTUS could come in. I do not think that SCOTUS would outright steal the election for Trump, as some on the left are fearing. However, if the race is legitimately close and if there are some discrepancies on enough mail-in ballots (maybe they were filled in wrong, maybe they were signed incorrectly, whatever), I could see SCOTUS ruling favorably for Trump. This is the danger for Democrats. This is basically Trump's path: he has to win FL and NC and then get an upset in PA. --Even if Trump did the above, he'd still need to avoid Georgia or Texas turning blue, which are both possible. Arizona is also a good chance for Biden, who has polled slightly ahead there for months. All told, Biden is in a great position, up 8 nationally and seemingly up by at least 4 points in Pennsylvania, the most likely state to be the tipping point. Still, after 2016, I'm not ruling anything out, even though Hillary Clinton was only up by 3 points nationally on Election Day. As I said, we should know within the first 2 hours if Trump has a shot.

1 pointThanks YW. Such a strange act. Reasonably well known considering they were essentially a one hit wonder for their Automatic Lover, #35 and yet not the song I was expecting... I’m very familiar with “Baby Baby” because of its use in popular culture. It didn’t even chart, but seems to be their signature song... and yet I don’t really understand how it grew to being so widely known in the timespan from its original release? Also unusual that Edwards is still with them as the last remaining original member. Drummers are normally the first out the door and punk bands in particular would often dispose of and replace their drummers within a couple of years.

1 pointOther than Mel Brooks (94) himself, just three credited Blazing Saddles cast members still alive: Burton Gilliam (82), Robyn Hilton (76) and child actor Rodney Allen Rippy (52). Unusually high mortality rate for a film from the mid-70s with such a big cast.

1 pointThis the place for political ranting? Okay here goes. I am fucking sick of watching the covid news every day which seems to be split into about 4 segments. 1) Somebody explaining how bad it is and how many people will die unless we lockdown and somebody else saying the government should have locked down sooner. 2) Some vox pop piece with various business owners bleating on about how terrible it is that their businesses are being closed down and how can they survive. 3) Somebody bleating on about how much money the government are spending and how will we ever be able to afford it. 4) Somebody talking about how they can't afford to live and the government need to support their industry better. They are also running segments 5 and 6 now being 5) Schools and colleges should be shut because they are spreading the disease followed of course by 6) Some educational specialist explaining that children's lives and mental health would be ruined if schools close again. Will anyone in the media ever accept that giving the two polar opposite views does not necessarily amount to balance? The government and the agencies in this country have been faced with an extremely difficult and challenging set of events and in the main have made a complete fuck up of dealing with them efficiently and effectively however if the media continue to present the current situation about major events (whatever it may be and whichever party is in power) in the current negative polarising style then no political party or ruling power will be able to gain the support of the country for any of their actions ever which is a bit tiresome.

1 pointWTF is the logic behind allowing pubs to sell takeaway food, but not alcohol? Alcohol is available in any supermarket, corner shop, and I seem to remember they allowed off-licences to stay open last time. Beer has a limited shelf life, so our local pubs are taking yet another big hit - this one entirely unnecessary.

1 pointD’you know GC, I think you’re absolutely right. As a bisexual man managing a precision engineering machine shop (a traditional gammon stomping ground of people who are frankly completely ignorant of any of today’s societal norms involving inclusivity of people who aren’t white British, LGBT+ or any kind of minority whatsoever) I’m made to feel like my mindset is rather, for want of a better adjective, different. And perhaps, as a result, the acceptance of any odd psyche such as morbidity is rather less likely to be alien to someone less entwined with this kind of ‘straight, traditional’ societal norm.
